Welcome Furniture
was started in October, 1982 by two salesmen
from A.C. Carlson furniture after that store burned down
earlier in the same year (since rebuilt). After being
joined by two more partners, John Rowley, Duane Johnson,
Dick Budewitz and Carl Hagstrom began a tradition of
offering top quality furniture at very competitive
prices with highly personalized service.
In 1993, after experiencing steady growth for eleven
years, the original owners retired, selling out to one
of their salesmen, Ray Wiley, and his brother, Wes
Wiley. Ray and Wes continued to offer quality furniture
at great prices while bringing in a number of new lines
to the store. In 1997, they introduced Smith Brothers of
Berne, a beautiful line of Indiana Amish upholstery. In
2000, they began showing a wide selection of Indiana
Amish bedroom, dining and accessories.
As early as 1998, with their Crystal location bursting
at the seams, Ray and Wes decided it was time to follow
many of their customers out to the rapidly developing
interstate 94 corridor
between Minneapolis and St. Cloud. They finally
accomplished that in 2002, opening their new store in
Albertville on December 26th. The new store is two and
one-half times the size of the old Crystal store with
room to double in size again. Business is flourishing in
Albertville, and Ray and Wes hope to take the additional
space soon.
Welcome Furniture displays a much expanded selection of
Amish dining, bedroom, upholstery and accessories in
Albertville. It also features beautiful Smith upholstery and a large collection
of reclining sofas and chairs, entertainment centers, futons and much more. Custom orders continue to be
Welcome's specialty.
Offering high quality furniture and service at
competitive prices has driven Welcome Furniture's
success over the past twenty-one years, and brought many
wonderful customers to its doors. Wes and Ray deeply
appreciate their support, and look forward to serving
them and lots of new customers for many years to come.
